KEY POINTS:
The 32-year-old man charged in connection with the death of Porirua policeman Sergeant Derek Wootton has been remanded in custody to reappear in Porirua District Court on August 26.
Andrew Popo, of no fixed abode, had earlier been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop after a motor accident, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
Popo has not entered a plea to any of the charges.
