Police have still not been able to interview the victim of an attack in central Auckland on Friday night.
The man, whose injuries were not life threatening, was not well enough to talk yet, and that was slowing progress on the inquiry, Detective Constable Leon Wood said.
The victim, an Asian man in his 20s, was assaulted by two men on Governor Fitzroy Place, in central Auckland, about 11.30pm on Friday.
Both attackers were also described as of Asian descent and aged in their 20s.
One was over 160cm tall, with dyed blond hair and was wearing a black hooded top with a silver design on the front.
The second man had a solid build and was wearing a black T-shirt.
Police would also like to hear from a woman who was driving a silver four door vehicle when she was flagged down by the victim's girlfriend on Mayoral Drive. She picked up the pair and took them to Auckland Hospital.
