Police will not say how man in house died

Environmental Science and Research staff yesterday examined the Waikato home at the centre of a homicide investigation but police will not say what happened.

Ambulance staff were called to the Waingaro property northwest of Hamilton at 3am on Tuesday and found the body of a 30-year-old man.

Detective Sergeant Mike Whitehead said a team of 14 officers from Hamilton and local townships were on the case.

Local road workers said the home, on a hill overlooking State Highway 22, had been occupied by a young family.
