Police have urged motorists to take extra care after two people died on Waikato roads within four hours of each other last night.
"Waikato roads are extremely busy this weekend due to Auckland Anniversary holiday, and the numerous events being held in both the Waikato and Coromandel areas," said Senior Sergeant Gael Mockford from Hamilton Police.
The first crash occurred along Te Ohaki Rd, Huntly about 6.30pm where a 15-year-old pillion passenger died.
The driver also suffered injuries and was taken to Waikato Hospital.
Police were appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident or saw a Harley Davidson motorbike in the area to contact them.
