A Whanganui fugitive, wanted over an alleged domestic home invasion last month where a Kihikihi woman was seriously assaulted, should not be approached, Western Waikato police say.
They are seeking the public's help in tracking down Owen James Heke after the alleged attack on May 26.
Detective Alastair McDougall of Waipa CIB says two warrants to arrest Heke - a 176cm tall Maori of medium build - have been issued.
"He has a history of violent offending and is believed to be actively avoiding police," Mr McDougall said.
"If seen Heke should not be approached, instead people should ring 111 straight away."
