A police vehicle was damaged during an early morning pursuit in Napier.
The pursuit is understood to have started on the Hawkes Bay Expressway soon after midnight yesterday and ended when the BMW car sought by police was abandoned in Napier's south-eastern suburbs.
A police station wagon received suspension and left-wheel damage near the corner of Geddis Ave and Bright Cres and was put out of action.
A police dog was used to try to find those who fled from the BMW.
A male was found hiding beneath a vehicle on a property about two hours after the pursuit began but police were still looking for the driver last night.
