KEY POINTS:
Police are treating the death of a woman found in her Papamoa home as suspicious.
Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier of Tauranga CIB said police were called by a neighbour who was concerned about not seeing the woman for several days.
When police entered her house they found her body.
"A number of issues relating to the scene and the woman's death are of concern to investigators, so at this time the death is being treated as suspicious," Mr Brazier said.
Local and Auckland-based forensic experts will carry out a scene examination today.
The woman will be named when her next of kin have been notified.
