Police will be monitoring Kaitaia Airport following this week's Maori land occupation.
Activists spent just over 24 hours at the site before police issued them with trespass notices and moved them off.
Airport operator Far North Holdings reopened the airport this morning.
Police would be at the airport when planes are due to land incase protesters decide to return, Northland police spokesperson, Sarah Kennett said.
