Police are hoping to today interview the driver who caused a fatal crash while fleeing police in Christchurch on Thursday night.
The 22-year-old male driver has been in hospital under police guard with head and internal injuries since the crash which killed Norm Fitt, 73, and Dee Jordan, 67.
He was charged with driving while disqualified and other charges are likely to be laid this week.
The man will be appearing in Christchurch District Court tomorrow on the disqualified driving charge.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash to come foward.
