Police will today block the Pukekohe street where a woman was attacked and raped in her home a week ago, to see if anyone saw the offender.
The woman was subjected to a horrifying ordeal lasting several hours.
Detective Senior Sergeant Neil Grimstone said: "It's a checkpoint situation and I want to capture anyone that was there at the same time last week because it's a week ago to the time that the attack occurred.
"I'm endeavouring to capture people that were moving past that house in the hours prior to the offence, exactly one week prior and see if we can jog their memories."
Police will be stopping traffic on the street between 5pm and 9pm today.
Mr Grimstone said the response from the public had been very positive.
He said: "We have had a lot of people nominating persons of interest, including previously abused females who have given us the names of ex-partners they believe could be capable of such a crime."
