Police officers would support a fully-armed force, according to a recent survey conducted by the Police Association.
72 per cent of the 6300 officers surveyed said they would support having police fully armed, up from 47 per cent in 2008.
"It's not suprising given that we've had 9 officers shot in two years," Police Association President Greg O'Connor told One News.
While the survey shows a good deal of support for arming police, over 5000 officers were not included in the research.
