Four people have been arrested after allegedly towing a trailer of stolen property down Blenheim's main street.
A car towing a trailer carrying three new mountain bikes, a new water blaster and a weed eater, was stopped on Main St heading towards Christchurch, about 4.50am, Blenheim police spokeswoman Michelle Stagg said.
The bikes had been stolen from Village Cycles in Richmond, south of Nelson, on July 19, the water blaster and weed eater were also stolen in July from Wakefield, also near Nelson.
A digital camera and cellphones found in the car were believed to have been stolen from Nelson.
A 26-year-old man, a 24-year-old man, a 16-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man, all from Nelson, were arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property.
All four were due to appear in court this afternoon.
Police said inquiries were continuing and further charges were likely.
