Police are still looking for two men after an armed group smashed their way into a south Auckland house early yesterday and attacked the male occupant.
Several men arrived at the property on Nola Crescent, Otara, about 2am where an argument took place. There are conflicting reports about what the argument was about but it seems to have caused one of the men to leave the property and come back with a double-barrelled shotgun, Detective Sergeant Steve Nightingale said.
It was not clear whether the gun was fired but a scene examination had not found any evidence that it had, he said.
The victim was taken to hospital but only sustained minor cuts and bruises.
The armed offenders squad cordoned off Nola Crescent and nearby streets and police spoke to two men after the incident but no one was arrested.
The gun had not been found.
Police were speaking to several witnesses.
