Hamilton police are continuing to hunt a man after the attempted abduction of a teenage girl on Wednesday night.
The 15-year-old was walking near Aberfoyle St after 6pm when a man driving a black 4x4 Toyota ute approached her.
He told her to get in the vehicle and tried to grab her.
When the girl fled towards her Ranui St home the driver got out and chased her until she managed to lose him in school grounds off Michael Avenue.
Police today said they had received a number of calls about the incident from the public which were being followed up.
The offender is described as a Maori or Pacific Islander of muscular build, about 182cm tall and wearing a black hoodie, white beanie and black jeans.
Police said the ute would likely be the key to finding the man and continued their call for anyone with information to get in touch.
