Police still hunting Papakura kidnappers

Police are still hunting three men who bashed and then kidnapped a man in south Auckland early this week.

The attackers assaulted the man as he got into his car in Papakura about 5.30pm on Monday. He was bundled into his vehicle and driven off but escaped a short distance away and was taken to the police station.

The men drove off in his car which has not been found.

Counties-Manukau police said the man suffered facial injuries and severe bruising to his face and legs.

They appealed to anyone with information about the attack, or the man's car, a white 1998 Honda Integra, registered number DGF272, to call them.
