KEY POINTS:
A stolen car had its wheels reduced to rims after being twice spiked by police during a chase through Mangere last night.
The chase began at 6.05pm and lasted about 50 minutes involving about a dozen police cars and the Eagle helicopter.
Inspector Barry Smalley, of police northern communications, told the Herald there were two police cars in pursuit but others were used to contain the vehicle.
Three occupants of the car were arrested. No one was injured during the chase.
