Police sex inquiry

The investigation into complaints of sexual offending and assault by a senior Auckland police officer is expected to take some time to complete.

The officer was stood down in March after the allegations against him.

Police said the allegations related to only one woman, contrary to a Herald report yesterday that two women were involved.

It was too early to say if the officer would face charges.
