Police yesterday seized 27lbs of cannabis with a street value of around $270,000 in raids in Auckland, Manukau City and Waitakere City.
Police swooped on buildings in Te Atatu South, Waitakere, Henderson, Green Bay and Manukau, seizing plants and dried leaft, along with $10,000 in cash.
Eight men - aged between 27 and 65 - were arrested and will appear in court over the next week to face charges including possession, possession for supply and cultivation of cannabis.
The officer in charge of the operation, Detective Senior Sergeant Mark McHattie, said about 30 officers were involved in yesterday's operation.
They included members of the Auckland City CIB supported by officers from Auckland Metro Crime and Operations Support (AMCOS) and Counties/Manukau and Waitemata Policce districts.
Mr McHattie said the raids were the culmination of two months investigation into organised criminal involvement in the cultivation and distribution of cannabis.
