Police are on the lookout for notorious career criminal Simon Allan Kerr, who has been on the run for over a month.
A warrant has been issued for the 48-year-old man in relation to a burglary of a Noel Leeming store in Whangarei in which a "substantial amount" of electrical equipment was stolen.
Kerr has recently been sighted in the Whangarei area and has strong links to Auckland.
He is described as a 1.9m tall European of solid build.
Both his arms and legs are heavily tattooed and he has bats tattooed on either side of his neck.
Kerr was once the leader of the Hole in the Wall gang that used to break through walls and steal safes.
He also made headlines with a 12-day protest on top of Mt Eden Prison.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact Whangarei Police on 09 430 4500 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
