Two people who came to the aid of a woman who was assaulted in Dunedin on Saturday are being asked to contact police.
The woman was repeatedly beaten in the street in the early hours of Saturday morning as she tried to escape her attacker.
Two people came to her aid, twice, during the assault in the Dundas St and Harbour Tce area about 3.30am.
The woman and her alleged attacker had a row, after which she left the house and stopped at Harbour Tce, police said. She was approached by two members of the public, who asked if she was okay, before leaving shortly after.
A few minutes later, the attacker walked up to the woman, assaulted her and dragged her along the ground. When she was released, she saw the same two members of the public and ran to them for help.
