Police would like to speak to two men who may have seen a woman hit by a car in Christchurch yesterday morning.
The 53-year-old Dunedin woman, who was discovered serious head wounds on Durham Street in the central city about 4.30am, believes she was intentionally mown down by the driver.
Two men had been at a casino nearby and they may have seen what happened or spoken to the woman before she was injured, Christchurch Central CIB Detective Sergeant Craig Farrant said.
Police had spoken to the woman again this afternoon, but she could not remember many details of what happened, Mr Farrant told NZPA.
The woman was struck between 4am and 4.26am.
