Police are hunting four men who robbed an Armourguard van at gunpoint, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
At 6.30pm on Friday the four men robbed Armourguard van staff at Sylvia Park near the Countdown supermarket. One of the men presented a firearm.
Police say the group left in a stolen silver Toyota Ipsum with the stolen registration plate HNN523. The car was dumped a short time later in Mt Wellington's Fisher Crescent.
The four men were described by witnesses as solidly built Polynesians who were wearing fluoro vests, gloves, dark pants and who were each about 182cm tall.
If you or someone you know has information that might help the Glen Innes police track these offenders down, call or text Detective Sergeant David Paea on 021 191 0423.
