Police are appealing for people who witnessed the aggravated robbery of a security van outside the Lynfield ASB yesterday to come forward.
Security staff were robbed at gun point by two males as they walked back to their van from the bank about 6.20pm.
The offenders stole a container and fled the scene in a Silver Nissan with the registration EBH925. The vehicle was recovered shortly afterwards in Orcades Place, Lynfield.
The offenders were wearing overalls and masks and were armed with a shot gun and another weapon described as an assault rifle.
There was a third male driving the vehicle, who was described as a heavily-built Maori or Polynesian in his early 20s.
