Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed at a Christchurch ATM on Friday.
The man was approached at the Westpac ATM on Colombo St, near the corner of Edgeware Rd, about 7pm and threatened with a knife by a man wearing dark trousers and a hoodie.
Theattacker allegedly pushed the victim to the ground and stabbed him twice in the calf.
The victim received medial treatment and is understood to be recovering at home, police said.
Detective Sergeant Geoff Rudduck said the man in the hoodie fled the scene on foot along Colombo St.
A black car with silver-trimmer mag wheels and a spoiler, possibly a Ford Laser, appeared to pursue the man before he jumped a fence into a nearby property, Mr Rudduck said.
Police are calling for anyone who saw the black car or the fleeing man on Friday to call the Christchurch Central Police Station on (03) 363 7400.
