An Auckland pharmacist in jail for selling cold medicine to drug dealers for the manufacture of P could have to cough up the $129,000 that police say he made in profit.
Samuel Ross Pulman, who worked at a pharmacy in Pukekohe south of Auckland, was imprisoned for five years last year after admitting manufacturing the class A drug.
He admitted selling 1290 boxes of cold medicine containing the methamphetamine precursor drug pseudoephedrine over a two-year period.
The pseudoephedrine he sold was thought to have produced up to 1.1kg of methamphetamine, valued on the street at $1.1 million.
Police are now asking the court to confiscate the $129,000 they say Pulman made from selling the drugs.
Lawyers for the two parties appeared briefly in the High Court at Auckland this morning. The matter was adjourned for two weeks.
Pulman is currently serving his sentence at Ngawha Prison in the Far North.
