Police were last night hunting for a Customline Ford - the man, not a car - who is the son of one of the country's most notorious gang leaders.
Ford, 21, is facing a number of charges including burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and receiving.
Customline Ford has siblings named Mainline and Fairlane Ford.
Detective Tracey Calder said it was well-known that Ford had heavy gang connections with the Mongrel Mob, was considered dangerous and should not be approached.
He is believed to be in the Wellington or Wairarapa areas, but he does have affiliations in Auckland, Ms Calder said. His father James Triple M - which stands for Mighty Mongrel Mob - Ford, died in 2006.
He legally changed his name from James Waddell and also named his children in honour of the Mob - which has long been associated with Ford V8 vehicles.
Ford snr, the president of the Mongrel Mob Rogue Chapter, based in Wairarapa, was one of the country's most notorious gangsters.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Customline Ford should contact Wairarapa police on (06) 370-0300 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555-111.
