A man stabbed near Levin yesterday is this morning in a stable condition as police look for a second person connected with the incident.
A 34-year-old Foxton man had further surgery last night and is today in a stable condition in Palmerston North Hospital's intensive care unit, after suffering abdominal wounds that left him in a critical condition.
A 41-year-old Levin woman appeared in the Levin District Court yesterday charged with assault and has been remanded in custody until July 19.
Detective Sergeant Sarn Paroli, Horowhenua CIB, said police are continuing to follow up information about a man who they believe was also present at the house at the time of the incident.

"We have finished with our scene examination at the house but still have a lot of inquiries to make to get a better picture of what happened and why," Mr Paroli said.
"We expect it will be several days before the victim is well enough to speak with us."
