Police are seeking more information about the theft of a specially imported Yamaha outboard jet motor stolen from South Auckland last Saturday.
The distinctive motor has a specialised imported jet attachment.
There are very few models similar in New Zealand, police said.
The motor was taken from Flatbush, South Auckland, but the thieves did not take the specialised fuel control unit it needs to make it work.
Counties Manukau supervisor Sergeant John Roberts said the motor was "very unusual" and would attract attention.
