Police seek missing man and daughter

Police are searching for a man who fled a Wellington house with his seven-year-old daughter following an altercation on Tuesday night.

Lau Leota, 41, and his daughter Faaulua left their house at Linden, near Tawa north of Wellington, about midnight on Tuesday.

They had not been seen since.

The pair left the house in a red 1987 Toyota Corolla, registration UC4702.

Detective Sergeant Dan Keno, of the District Child Protection Team, said police were concerned for the wellbeing of both.

They were especially concerned for Faaulua, who may need medical treatment, Mr Keno said.

"I urge Mr Leota to phone us or text us, or call into any police station so we know that his child is safe."

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should contact police.
