Police believe the same man is responsible for three aggravated robberies in south Auckland in the past week.
A man, believed to be Ben Bosch Herkt, 35, walked into the National Bank on Great South Road, Papakura on January 4, and handed a written note to the teller saying he had a gun.
The teller complied after being told to hand over cash. Mr Herkt left the bank and hopped into a taxi, said Detective Sergeant Dave French.
The offender used the same method at BNZ Bank on Great South Road in Manurewa yesterday, and again at the Post Shop on the same road today, he said.
Aucklanders are being asked to look out for a Maori man, with a medium to solid build and about 180cm in height. Mr Hertz was clean shaven with closely cropped hair and carried a black satchel in each robbery, said Mr French.
