Police are looking for a man after a 63-year-old woman was seriously assaulted in Naenae on Monday night.
The assault happened at about 10pm.
The victim has been treated for her injuries and is resting with family, Hutt Valley Police said.
Police want to talk to anyone who may have seen a bearded Maori man about 35 to 40 years old, of solid to fat build walking in the central Naenae, Lower Hutt, area on Monday evening.
