Police are seeking a man in relation to a serious assault in Whangamata on February 6 that resulted in a Whangamata man being flown to hospital with serious head injuries.
Shane James Old, 42, has been identified by police as a person of interest after the attack, saying they believe he will be able to give a clearer picture of what happened.
He is described as a male Maori of medium build and about 185cm tall, and police believe he has contacts throughout the Coromandel.
