Police are looking for help in finding a man who tried to abduct a plucky 14-year-old girl on Auckland's North Shore.
Police said the girl was walking along Seaview Rd in Glenfield about 4.30pm on August 5 when a man drove beside her and offered her a ride, which she declined.
Detective Kylie McIvor of North Shore CIB said the man drove off and stopped further down the road, where he got out of the car and grabbed the girl's arm in an attempt to pull her towards the car.
She said the girl screamed and managed to get free before running away. The alleged offender then drove in an unknown direction.
Ms McIvor said the alleged attacker was a Fijian Indian man in his 20s who spoke with an Indian accent. He was 170cm tall with brown eyes, black scruffy short hair, wore a black top or jacket and drove a black four door vehicle.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows a person who fits the description is urged to call Ms McIvor.
