Huntly Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted while walking through a local reserve overnight.
She managed to fight the man off and run for help, after he grabbed her while she was making her way through the north end of the reserve between James Henry Cres and Rosser St about 12.30am.
Acting Detective Sergeant Scott Neilson said the attack happened after the woman had walked a friend home.
"This is a terrible experience for anyone to have to go through and the advice we want to give the public is that where possible, please stick to well lit paths at night and try to keep in groups of two or more when out walking".
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or was in the area about the same time overnight.
