Police seek information on fatal crash

Police are appealing for information about a fatal truck crash last month on State Highway 1 at Taupo.

Tangimoana truck driver Derwin Brown, 61, died when his vehicle and another truck collided at 11.50pm on June 17.

Police want to speak to anyone who was travelling through Taupo between 11.30pm and midnight and saw the Kenworth and Volvo trucks.

Constable Greg Weston, of Taupo, said police were particularly interested to speak to truck drivers travelling between Waiouru and Taihape from 2am to 3am the day after the crash. They are believed to have had a radio discussion about the way one of the trucks was driven.
