A Manawatu man was seriously injured when he was struck by a motorcyclist in a hit and run incident over the weekend.
Police said the man had been walking with a friend on the grass verge outside his house at Himatangi Beach, west of Palmerston North, when he was struck between 7.30pm and 8pm on Saturday.
"After the collision the rider of the motorcycle has left the area without offering the injured man assistance," police said.
The man was seriously injured and required surgery.
Police are seeking information from anyone who was in the Koputara Rd area of Himatangi Beach at the time of the incident, or anyone who may know the motorcycle rider.
