Police have growing concerns for the safety of a man who disappeared from his West Auckland home yesterday.
David Stephen Liddell, 54, was last seen by his wife leaving their home in his car in Wisely Rd, Hobsonville about 2pm and have appealed to the public for help in finding him.
They refused to say why they were worried about his safety but said his disappearance was out of character.
Mr Liddell, a European, was described as a self-employed businessman, 170cm tall, with a solid build and greying hair. He also had a short black/grey full beard.
He was wearing cream knee length shorts, a grey shirt and glasses.
He was driving a 2004 maroon Holden Adventurer car.
Police said he may have headed to the Northland region and could be in the Whangarei area. His disappearance was not suspicious.
Police said anyone with information should call Constable Heber Gasu at the Henderson Police, on 09 839 0600.
