Police seek help to find Carterton man

Police are seeking the public's help to find a man with a heart condition who has not been seen by his family since last month.

Tony Smith, 57, of Carterton, was last seen by his partner on February 19, when he left home to attend an appointment at Wairarapa Hospital.

Senior Sergeant Gordon Crawley said, since then, police had received reports Mr Smith had been in Wellington Hospital and Palmerston North, but had not made contact with his partner.

"We do want to hear from him so we know that he's okay."

Police believed Mr Smith had a heart condition and they would like to speak to anybody who knew anything about his whereabouts.

"We just want to make sure he's safe and sound."

Mr Smith is described as Pakeha, about 1.93m tall, with a stocky build. He has several distinctive tattoos on his arms and shoulders, including several featuring doves.
