Police on Auckland's North Shore are appealing for information about a security van hold-up on Wednesday.
Two heavily disguised men, one wielding a hammer, robbed a van parked at Westfield Mall in Albany. Detective Shane Page says a third man was driving a getaway car.
"They got away in a black 1994 Mazda Lantis. They drove it about 800 metres through the car park and dumped it. We suspect they got into a second vehicle and left the area."
The vehicle had been earlier reported stolen from Mairangi Bay.
Mr Page says the men made off with plastic containers containing $10 and $20 bills. He will not reveal exactly how much money was stolen.
The two security staff who were with the van have been left shaken.
