Police want to speak to four girls after an arson attack at the Dargaville Holiday Park destroyed a building and its contents, including a $6000 ride-on lawnmower.
A stand-alone garage was gutted at the park, on Onslow St, about 6pm last Thursday.
Four Maori or Pacific Island girls aged between12 and 15 were seen near the garage about an hour before the fire was discovered.
One of the girls was possibly suffering from eczema and had scarring on her face as a consequence, police said.
Police are interested in anyone who has information that may help in identifying who lit the fire.
They would also like to speak to the girls so that they can discount their involvement or ascertain any important information they have which could help in the investigation.
Police would like the girls or anyone else with information to contact Detective Andy Bailey at the Dargaville Police Station 09 439 3400.
