Police want to speak to two doctors who helped at the scene of a fatal crash in Christchurch overnight.
A 19-year-old woman died when the car she was a passenger in crashed into a parked vehicle in Wairakei Road, between Ilam and Idris Roads, in suburban Bryndwr, at 12.20am.
A 23-year-old male passenger was taken to hospital with moderate injuries, while the 21-year-old driver was uninjured.
"Two doctors were among those first to the scene and provided immediate assistance to the young woman," Detective Richard Quested said.
"Police are asking the doctors to get in touch with Papanui police.
"A number of other people were in the area at the time and saw or heard the crash. If you can help police with information, then please contact Papanui police."
The driver was alcohol breath tested but the results were not yet available.
