KEY POINTS:
Police have revealed the contents of the backpack stolen from a 15-year-old Auckland girl after she was sexually assaulted in her own home by a man posing as a truancy officer.
Henderson police are searching for the West Harbour resident's navy blue bag which has been missing since the attack on Tuesday.
Missing from the backpack are the girl's red Ericsson cellphone and NCEA assessment papers - she is studying for end-of-year school exams.
Detective Sergeant Steve Salton said the police had received good information from the public but still wanted to find the bag and its contents.
The man, who is described as a short, stocky Polynesian about 40-years-old, approached the girl while she walked along Hobsonville Rd between 12.20pm and 1pm on Tuesday.
He told her he was a truancy officer and asked her to get into his car so he could check she wasn't wagging. He then drove her to her home where the assault took place.
The man was driving a white station wagon which had a tidy, light-grey interior and contained a Collins-brand diary.
The girl fought back and the man would have visible scratch marks on his neck, said Salton.
