A 22-year-old Waikato farm worker is missing after hitching a ride home on Friday night, sparking fears for his safety.
Police said Joshua Falwasser has not been heard from since he texted his brother to say he was hitchhiking home from Tauranga.
Sergeant Mark Toomey of Morrinsville police said Mr Falwasser had gone to Tauranga with a relative on Wednesday afternoon so he could go to a party on Thursday.
"He was last heard from on Friday night when he texted his brother. He was expected back at the farm he works on to milk cows on Saturday morning, but hasn't been heard from or seen since."
His disappearance is described as out of character, and his family, employer and police all held concerns for his wellbeing.
