KEY POINTS:
Police are searching for an English tourist who went missing while tramping in the Wye Creek area, near Queenstown, last night.
A search involving Queenstown police and search and rescue personnel was launched at 7.30pm yesterday, after police were told the man had become separated from his tramping party.
Police said the man, in his 50s, was an experienced tramper and had a survival pack with him, which should have enabled him to survive overnight.
