Upper Hutt police are looking for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for more than two weeks.
Acting-Senior Sergeant Steve Dearns said Metua Aripu was last seen on December 30 when she left her address in Mary Crescent.
"We've been making a number of inquiries as to her whereabouts and believe she may be in the wider Pomare or Taita areas in Lower Hutt," he said.
On Sunday a family member phoned police after seeing Ms Aripu in Stokes Valley, but police were unable to locate her, Mr Dearns said.
"Metua Aripu is of Pacific descent, 157 centimetres tall, of thin build. She has brown eyes and dark brown shoulder length hair and was last seen wearing blue tights with black boots and a white cardigan."
Anyone with any information should phone Upper Hutt Police as soon as possible on 04 527 2300 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
