Christchurch police are appealing for any sightings of a 62-year-old man who has been missing since the weekend.
Canada-born Edward Nagy has not been seen since leaving his home at Oxford, north of Christchurch, on Sunday.
Mr Nagy wears glasses, has his hair in a single plait and has two gold earrings in his left ear.
It is possible he is in the Collingwood area, near Nelson, where he has visited before. He is believed to have been travelling in a grey Subaru Legacy station wagon, with the registration number ATB195.
Sergeant Colin Stewart says the disappearance is out of character and police have concerns. He says police would like to hear from anyone who has seen Mr Nagy or the vehicle in recent days.
