A search is underway for a 10-year-old boy in the North Island's Rangitikei district.
The boy, whose first name is Kyle, has not been seen since 4pm today when he was thought to have wandered away from a relatives address in the town of Marton.
A police statement said he was not familiar with Marton and police and his family had concerns for his safety.
Police and search and rescue personnel were tonight searching for him.
Kyle is Caucasian, about 1.47m tall, of slim build, with short brown hair.
