Hamilton police are searching for a cyclist after two women were groped in separate incidents in the past five days.
A 27-year-old woman was chased and indecently assaulted by a man while she was jogging along the River Pathway on the Pukete side of the Waikato River about 5.20pm yesterday, Senior Sergeant Greg Dunn said.
Two off-duty police officers intervened when they heard yelling but were unable to apprehend the man.
Police were aware of another incident around the same time on Saturday in which a woman was similarly attacked, Mr Dunn said.
"We want to make people aware that there has been at least one person acting inappropriately in the area," he said.
The offender was described as a male Maori of small build aged about 15-16 years old, possibly riding a BMX bike.
