Police are claiming a successful day at the office after issuing a bunch of infringement notices to gang members.
After the funeral for a Filthy Few gang member in Tauranga yesterday, police set up road blocks near the gang's headquarters - where one in four drivers were issued with notices for varying offences.
Inspector Clifford Paxton says police were made aware that motorcyclists in the funeral procession were not wearing helmets, and were also running red lights, blocking intersections and driving dangerously.
"There is, or tends to be, a high level of offending both in terms of regulatory breaches but also in terms of some driver behaviour and there was other offending identified at the time in terms of excessive speed."
