The third and final prisoner that escaped from a paddy wagon in Hamilton last week has been caught by police.
Three prisoners jumped out of the police van at an intersection in Melville before heading for a bush-clad gully, last Monday.
Senior Sergeant Kent Holdsworth said Thomas 'Steely' Te Rangi, 19, was arrested yesterday after police received reports of a burglary.
"Neighbours had reported someone suspicious at the home and when stopped by Taupo Police in Richmond Heights Te Rangi was found in a car with a stolen TV in it and taken into custody," Mr Holdsworth said.
Te Rangi has been charged with the burglary as well as escaping lawful custody.
Police arrested the other two escapees last week.
Richard Joseph was arrested in Tokoroa with three people who police described as family associates.
Darren William Snowden was arrested with the assistance of a police dog after a number of addresses were raided by police.
